KNOT: THE UNI KNOT

the Uni Knot is possibly the easiest knot to tie, in fact so easy you don't have to look at it to tie which is great if you've forgotten your glasses. It has never failed me personally in over 20 years of use. If it has a downfall it is that it is too easy to learn and therefore quite hard to master.

uni1.jpg (6294 bytes) 1 - Place the tag (loose end) through the eye of the snap, or hook and form a loop as shown. give yourself plenty of line to tie the knot say 18".
uni2.jpg (8961 bytes) 2 - Simply pass the tag around the two lines  inside the loop as shown. For lines up to 130lb pass it through 6 times, for heavier lines 4 and even 3 times is enough. The passes should run up the lines as shown.
uni4.jpg (6968 bytes) 3 - Moisten the ends and snug the knot by pulling the tag end and the two ends at the snap swivel end away from each other.
uni5.jpg (7252 bytes) 4 - Slide the knot down to snap swivel and tighten by pulling on the main line. Finally tighten by pulling on the tag end. You can trim the tag end off as close to the knot as you wish.

Easy!
